01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Set along the streets of Shibaura, Taqumi prepares seasonal ingredients with a light, careful touch centered on fish. The popular lunch set, Honjitsu no Teishoku, lets diners select their main from options such as grilled fish, simmered fish, a weekly changing deep-fried dish, or simmered pork belly, with the possibility of combining two choices. The accompanying ara-jiru fish soup draws deep flavor from fish bones and trimmings, offering a nourishing counterpoint to the main dish. Balanced by small side dishes and a salad, each tray provides a satisfying midday meal.
Seafood Bowls Loaded with Ocean Catch
Lunch also features seafood rice bowls, with rice portion sizes available in small, medium, or large. Neatly arranged with varied cuts of seafood, the bowl comes alongside ara-jiru, a small side dish, and a salad, making it a fitting midday choice when you are craving raw fish.
Evenings of Charcoal-Grilled Vegetables and Small Bites
Dinner shifts to an assortment of seasonal small plates, including charcoal-grilled vegetables such as Ayame Yuki turnips and Matsumoto Ippon spring onions, as well as sake-steamed items, simmered fish, and tempura. Guests can order dishes gradually alongside beer, wine, or citrus-infused fruit liqueurs made with yuzu or kabosu.
Seating includes both counter and table options in an understated, calm space. Dinner reservations are accepted, making it a reliable spot for a composed evening meal.
